The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: SCOTT F. (SCOOTER) GRAMLEY- CLASS OF 1981. I worked for National Distillers and Chemical Corp. as an Internal Auditor. After two years, I switched professions and became Controller for Northeast Consumer Technology Stores, with twelve locations. Assisted with the Big Eight Accounting Firm to help with the audit scheduling to reduce yearly fees. Four years later, I was approached by a Business Consultant to help out a distressed client. The result was a tripling of sales, including landing contracts for Cleveland's sport venues, Jacobs Field (Indians) and Gund Arena (Cavaliers, concerts). After fourteen years, it was on to other distressed businesses, all with successful results. Today, I am self-employed doing much of the same with small businesses, and enjoying the freedom of dictating my own work hours. Personally, I have been married for twenty-one years, wife Gayle, and two sons, Justin (age 16) and Jeremy (age14). As a family our interests include the playing and coaching of baseball and soccer, golf, zoological parks, music from the 60's to the present, with some B.B. King and Nat King Cole intermixed, and of course anything related to Penn State. I am also involved in volunteer work with "Adult Learning Basic Education" Programs and church ministries. |
